Being a Self Advocate

Being a Self-Advocate: Help Others Help You

Sometimes people you meet at school or other places would like to help but are unsure how to support you. It is tough if you move where there are not very many other military families, or they do not understand military culture.10

In these situations, you will need to advocate for yourself. Self-advocacy means speaking up for what you need.
